The Amazing Alan Low

Sometimes I don't feel like working out, I am tired or my old powerlifting injuries act up. Like most people I can find my share of excuses why I should not be working out this one time.

Then, someone like Alan comes along. When he was in High School he was a weightlifter and set some records. Life happened, he got a job and a family and let his fitness slide.

Then he lost his limbs in a motorcycle accident in 1987. The sedentary life after the accident and bad eating habits added on the pounds and made Alan dissatisfied with his appearance.

When his father of 82 renewed his own gym membership, this was the prompting that Alan needed to make changes in his life.

Two years ago Alan began to collect the apparatus he would need to exercise per his needs. He has problems with his grip and some nerve damage. Alan never really saw the obstacles and enjoyed the challenge of seeing the "un-obvious solutions."

Doing squats is difficult because his prosthetic leg bends at a different angle than his natural leg. He does his squats by putting 150 pounds on one shoulder!

Alan looks great and sure brought me back to the reality that my little aches and pains are nothing but excuses. Thanks Alan
